Life after the Franchise:

Sue went on to complete her BSc & Masters in Sports Therapy, moving into academic teaching at Coventry College.  She was responsible for delivering both face to face class as well as via Zoom during the pandemic.  Following voluntary redundancy, Sue had a cabin built to enable her to work from home, she then met and married her husband and retired so they could travel 4 months of the year in their touring caravan.

Jeni injured her knee and decided to retrain in Sports & Holistic Massage as she was teaching fitness full-time she went to night class and gained her qualifications.  Following her arthroscopy, she went full-time into her clinic, and post pandemic she had a purpose built garden room for her clinic.  Following her husbands’ cancer / COPD / Broken vertebrae diagnosis, she also decided to semi-retire to be able to support him fully.  She teaches her holistic therapies for an academy in Arnold, Nottinghamshire.

Life after Sports Massage:

In 2022 Jeni decided to start a small monthly group at Groby Village Hall for friends to get together and craft – little did she know!!!!

The group started with 7, it is a non-profit group one Saturday a month, bring your project and we’ll help you, it’s now grown into regular monthly classes, workshops, tuition, supplies and retreats!

In November 2025, they both decided they needed a challenge and chose to sign up for the City & Guild Level 3 Qualification in Patchwork & Quilting – like they had nothing else to do! They are 3 months in, they support each other and the challenge is certainly different as a student! We can’t wait to see what they create.

In December 2025, over a lovely lunch, the boys (aka Terry & Paul) suggested that we actually take this to the next stage and “Sew Passionately” was created!

The Saturday Group still runs as a non-profit group, but alongside this Sue & Jeni have created a small business doing what they love, sewing, teaching and sharing their skills and love of all crafts.

Jeni invested in a Longarm Quilting machine in 2025 and has absolutely sailed away with it, she’s now offering this as a Service.  Sue is about to embark on her Longarm journey, so we will sharing the workload. 

As well as supporting Quilts 4 Care Leavers (Q4CL) Longarm Team, Jeni started a project in memory of her dear friend Elizabeth, to support LOROS our local hospice, her aim is to donate 100 quilts under the logo of “Love Liz” you can find out more about both these initiatives on our “Charity” page.

September 2026 sees us launch our residential retreats, the first being at Bosworth Hall, Market Bosworth, Leicestershire – you can find more about this on our Retreat Page.  It’s going to be an awesome 3 days, we have lots planned 😊

Behind the business

No about page would be complete without the mention of the men in our lives, Terry “Mr B” & Paul “Mr A” and not forgetting Coco A and Bella B our loving and loyal pets.  Without their support we certainly wouldn’t be able to do the crazy things we do, and their many rolls of the eyes keep us both grounded.  Also, they both work hard in the warehouse and distribution (they thought they were retiring)
